Jordan Blake ran a wind-legal 10.11 in the 100m final at Saturday’s Regional Qualifier, breaking his own club record set last season and moving into contention for a national final berth.
The race was close through 60 meters before Blake’s top-end speed separated him from the field over the final 20. “The start was actually a touch slow for him,” said the sprints coach. “It was the drive phase that won it.”
Blake now heads into the National Championships as the club’s fastest qualifier in five years.
